Lewis "Lewie" J. Fox, 73, of Britt passed away Sunday, July 14, 2002 at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.
Lewis J. Fox, the son of George J. and Ella (Schutjer) Fox, was born December 16, 1928, in Wesley, Iowa. He received his education in the Britt country schools.
He was united in marriage with Mary Appelhons on November 28, 1946. He was employed at Marting Manufacturing in Britt for a number of years, and later with Hawkeye Steel Products. Mary passed away in 1992.
Lewis later married Rose Mary Eden. The couple traveled extensively which they really enjoyed. Lewis truly enjoyed his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary; one son Richard Fox and his wife, Linda of Mansfield, Texas; two daughters: Jan Klaas and her husband, Dave of State Center and Becky Wegner of Britt; one stepson Bod Eden and his wife, Laurie of Britt; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law: Darrell Francis of Britt, Joe Appelhons and wife, Donna of Britt, Johnny Appelhons and his wife, Emma of Thompson; and three sisters-in-law: Betty Fox of Britt, Mildred Ohrtman of Pomeroy, Iowa, Janis Enfield of Mesa, Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mary and two brothers Larry and Lyle.
