Lila L. Terry, 78, of Colfax, Iowa, formerly of Clarion, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa. Lila daughter of William and Mary (White) Keeling was born March 8, 1928 around Belmond, Iowa. Her younger years were spent in Wright County, before moving to Missouri, where she graduated from high school in Niangua, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Thomas R. Terry on May 30, 1946 in Niangua, Missouri and they made their home in Clarion, Iowa, where they raised a family and Lila helped with her husbands' side home remodeling jobs until moving to Colfax in 1987. Lila is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas R. Terry; daughter Kathy L. Mathews of Colfax; son Johnny W. Terry and wife Judith of West Des Moises; grandchildren, Susan L. Mathews of Colfax, Pamela K. Fisher and husband Chandler, and Steven W. Terry of Des Moines; great grandchildren, Johnny W. Terry II, Ryan N. Terry and Sydney R. Fisher of Des Moises; one brother, Clifford Keeling and wife Irene of Clarion; two sister-in-laws, Betty Terry of Clarion, and Bertha Terry of Conway, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Keeling; three brothers, Melvin, Clarence, and Orie Keeling; and one sister Sylvia LaBounty.
