Linda Whelan, 75, of Clarion passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Clarion
Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion.
Memorial services for Linda Whelan will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19,
2013, at the Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion with Pastor
Ron Nelson officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the
service. Burial will be at the Belmond Municipal Cemetery in Belmond.
Linda Lou Whelan was born on January 6, 1938, to Frederick and Clara (Smit)
Gealow in Belmond. She attended school there and graduated with the class of
1956. Later that year she married Dwight Whelan and the couple made their home
in Belmond and later moved to Clarion. They worked together as custodians for
several local businesses throughout the years. Linda and Dwight both shared a
love for music and frequently played guitars and sang with friends. She was a
member of First Lutheran Church and loved crafting, using her metal detector,
dining out and taking care of her home.
Linda is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dwight; sister, Delores (Jerry)
Toft and special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
