Linette C. Bobst, 85, of Clarion, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

No services will be held.

Memorials may be directed to the United Church of Christ Congregational in Clarion, Mary Greeley Medical Center Foundation in Ames, William R. Bliss Cancer Center at Mary Greeley in Ames, or to a charity of choice.

Linette Cora, daughter of Willis Edward and Gladys (State) Nelson, was born on October 18, 1935 on a farm south of Galt, near Wall Lake. Linette grew up in the Galt area. She attended grade school at Lincoln #7 and graduated from Clarion High School in 1953. While in high school, Linette played piano for the girls and boys chorus. After high school, she attended Drake for one year.

On June 20, 1954, Linette was united in marriage to Larry Bobst in Galt at the Congregational Church. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove before moving to Galt in 1957. Linette worked as a book keeper at her father’s elevator, Nelson Grain and Feed, in Galt and later for Jim Tausz. Linette obtained her realtor and insurance license and worked at First Gabrielson Agency in Belmond for 18 years.

Linette enjoyed playing piano and working on crossword puzzles. Her family was important to her and she loved visiting with her grandchildren.

Linette is survived by her husband Larry of Clarion; sons Kevin (Robin) Bobst of Eldridge, Iowa and Craig Bobst of Clarion; three grandchildren Alyssa (Dan), Ryan (Michelle), and Erin; three great-grandchildren Olivia, Danielle, and Levi; sister Donnabel Schultz; and many other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Randal Nelson.
