Obituary

Lloyd Eugene Pommer was born in Britt, Iowa, May 23, 1942 to Henry and Winifred (Rietema) Pommer of rural Wesley.  Lloyd was baptized and made confession of faith in the Woden Christian Refromed Church, in Woden.  He attended the Titonka Schools and graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

He was united in marriage to Luthene Bruinsma on June 13, 1964, in Rochester, New York.  To this union were born two sons, Lloyd Eugene Jr. and Loren Henry.  Lloyd operated an insulation business for a few years in Lansing, Michigan.  Later he moved to Grand Rapids where he had employment until he was stricken with a heart condition for which there was limited medical help.  His health began to steadily decline and he passed away in his sleep February 15, 1994, in his home in Grand Rapids.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his two sons: Lloyd Eugene Jr. of Comstock Park, Michigan; Loren Henry of Kanagawa, Japan.  His mother, Winifred Pommer of Britt, Iowa; a sister, Vivian and her husband, Edward Rippentrop and their two sons, Jonathan and Steven of Pella, Iowa; two brothers: George and his wife, Nancy and their three sons, Nathan, Mark, and Timothy of Ada, Michigan; Daryl and his wife, Mary and their three children, Susan, Henry, and Joshua of rural Wesley.

His father, Henry, preceded him in death, exactly twenty on years earlier on February 15, 1973, also at the age of 51.  Both slept away and awoke in their heavenly home.

How glorious are the promises: "no sickness, nor sorrow and age matters not, for all former things are passed away!"
