Obituary


Lois Gayken, 67, passed away Saturday, December 11, 1999 at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center, East Campus in Mason City.

Lois, the daughter of Leo and Fay (Castle) Clark, was born March 30, 1932 in Britt.  She attended Britt school and graduated from Britt High School in 1950.

Lois was united in marriage with Lester Gayken in 1951 in Stockton, California.  The family moved to Britt in 1952, where they have since resided.  Lois was employed at Winnebago Industries in Forest City for 23 years, retiring in 1994.

Lois was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt.  She enjoyed hunting for antiques and looking after her family and friends.

Lois is survived by her husband, Lester of Britt; son, Robert of Roundtop, Texas, daughter, Charlla of Britt, son James, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Paul, Erik, and Beth; two great-grandchildren, Austin and Caitlyn; a sister, Jane Rains, of Glendale, Arizona, and a brother, Leo Clark, Jr. of Seattle, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and one brother.
