Lois Jean Abbas, 61, of Kanawha passed away Friday, June 16, 2000 at the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Lois, the daughter of Ernest and Ovedia (Omvig) Michelson was born February 7, 1939 in Kanawha, Iowa.  She attended school in Kanawha, graduating from Kanawha High School in 1957. Lois was united in marriage with David Abbas at the Kanawha Lutheran Church on July 20, 1962. The couple enjoyed over 37 years of marriage.  Lois lived in Kanawha her entire life. Lois has been employed as the Kanawha City Clerk for the past 26 years.  Lois was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed her grandchildren, fishing, Harley Davidson's, and car races.  Lois loved people and she enjoyed T.V. time with her black cat Crowsy. Lois was a member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women, and the Church Circle. Lois is survived by her husband, David of Kanawha; one daughter Tracy of Van Meter; one son Dan and his wife, Monica of Kanawha; three grandchildren: Katie Brown, Jacob Abbas, and Briana Abbas; her parents Ernest and Ovedia Michelson of Kanawha; mother-in-law Alice Abbas of Kanawha; and two brothers-in-law: Tom Abbas and his wife, Becky Waterloo and Robert Abbas of Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law George Abbas.
