Lora Redenius, 93, of Britt, passed away Friday, January 23, 2004, at the
Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Lora, the daughter of Eggo and Etta (Eden) Stohr, was born November 12, 1910, in
Winnebago County Northwest of Woden, Iowa. She received her education in the
rural schools of Grant Township. Lora was baptized and confirmed in the
Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Titonka.
On February 21, 1932, Lora was united in marriage with Menno Redenius at
Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Titonka. Following their marriage, the couple
moved to the Redenius family farm north of Hutchins and lived there until they
retired and moved into Britt in 1968.
Lora was a faithful member of the Woden Christian Reformed Church since her
marriage in 1932. Lora's life was centered on her family. She loved flowers
and enjoyed caring for her flower gardens.
Lora is survived by five sons and their families: Dr. Myron Redenius of
Billings, Montana, Kermit Redenius of Clarion, Elwin Redenius and his wife,
Linda, of Britt, Gerald Redenius and his wife, Yolanda, of Britt, and Ronald
Redenius and his wife, Mary, of Forest City; 14 grandchildren; 23
great-grandchildren; one sister Lydia Hillenga, of Woden; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Menno; one daughter-in-law
Rose Redenius; three sisters: Etta Bruns, Caroline Senne, and Gertrude
Kurtzleben, and two brothers: Henry Stohr and one in infancy.
