Obituary


Louise Iola Haxton, 82, passed away Friday, April 7, 1995, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East in Mason City. Louise, the daughter of Thomas and Nellie (Danielson) Asbe, was born July 20, 1912, on a farm south of Kanawha.  She attended country schools.  In 1941 she moved to Britt where she worked at the Hemp Plant southeast of Britt during World War II. She was united in marriage to Richard Haxton in December of 1946, at Algona.  The couple made their home in Britt.  Louise was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church in Kanawha.  She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Britt and was involved with the Lutheran ALCW. Her hobbies included gardening, crocheting and visiting with family and friends.  She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise is survived by two sons: her eldest son, Marvin Thompson and his wife, Patricia of CHarles City, and their daughters, Julie and her husband, Gary DeBower, and their children, Danielle and Justin, of Charles City, Lynn and her husband, Jim Hicks, and their children, Jimmy and Mathew of Waukesha, Wisconsin; and younger son, Roger Haxton and his wife, Becky and their children, Jarod, Jolene and Jeana, of Britt. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, Elma, Tillie and Bertha, two brothers, Henry and Joseph, and one grandson.
