Obituary

Lucille Elisabeth (Rachow) Holck passed away in Springfield, Missouri, on July 18, 1993, at the age of 79.  Lucille, daughter of George and Laura (Thielvolt) Rachow, was born December 11, 1914, in Round Lake, Minnesota. She graduated at the age of sixteen from Lake Park High School in Lake Park, Iowa. She attended college one semester; and then, as a young woman, moved with her family to Denhart, Iowa, four miles west of Kanawha, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Kermit Theodore Holck on February 27, 1936, and the couple farmed in the Klemme area until 1941 when they moved to the Holck family farm until they retired in 1972, after having moved into town in 1966.

Lucille was a 40-year member of the United Methodist Church in Kanawha and was actively involved in Sunday School and women's activities over the years.  After Kermit's death in 1987, Lucille moved to Marshfield, Missouri, to live near her daughter and family.  As her health began to fail, she lived for a brief time in her daughter's home before it became necessary for nursing home care.  At the time of her death, she was a resident at Sonshine Manor in Republic, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kermit, her parents, and two brothers Harrison and Wallace.

Lucille is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Joyce Holck of Hesston, Kansas, a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Roger Ruter of Springfield, Missouri, as well as five grandchildren, Mark Ruter and Stacy Ruter, Columbia, Missouri, Beth Holck, Fresno, California, Brenda Holck, Newton, Kansas, and Mindy Ruter, Springfield, Missouri.

Lucille was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her surviving family.
