Lynn Llewellyn Schroder, a lifelong resident of the Dows and Galt areas, passed
away May 1, 2005 at Trinity Regional Hospital in Ft. Dodge, Iowa.
Funeral services for Lynn will be Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the Dows
Methodist Church in Dows with Pastor Stan Watne officiating. Burial will take
place at Galt Cemetery in Galt.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 3, 2005 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Dows
Community Funeral Home, 100 North Lee Street, in Dows and will continue one hour
prior to the services at the church on Wednesday.
Lynn was the son of Bill and Margaret (Kuehl) Schroder and was born on the home
farm on July 17, 1917. He received his education in the Vernon Township country
school, the Public School of Seattle, Washington and graduated from Galt High
School in 1935. On July 4, 1941, Lynn was married to Celeste Elaine Korth, also
of Galt in Marysville, Missouri.
Lynn farmed all his life, but he also had a passion for hunting and fishing.
In 2000, Lynn entered the USA Healthcare Center in Dows. When that facility
closed he transferred to the facility in Clarion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Celeste; and three brothers,
Stanton "Buck" Schroder, Mitchell D. Schroder, and Van Schroder.
Those who remain and are thankful to have had Lynn in their lives include
nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
