Magda Gesine Zrostlik, 76, passed away Saturday, December 13, 1997 at the University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Magda, the daughter of Henry and Gretchen (Hinrichs) Egts, was born August 13, 1921, Sandelonburg, Germany. She came to the United States with her parents in 1924, when she was three years old and settled in Orleans, Nebraska. In 1937, the family moved to a farm near Britt. She was united in marriage with Sylvester Zrostlik on February 16, 1938 at Duncan, Iowa. The couple farmed in Hancock County. In 1974, they moved to a farm near Jesup, Iowa, where they farmed for eleven years. In 1985, they retired and moved into Britt.
Magda was a member of the Saint Patricks Catholic Church and the Britt Silver Star Senior Citizens club where she enjoyed playing cards.
She is survived by her husband, Sylvester of Britt; children Robert Zrostlik and his wife Jackie of Waterloo; Richard Zrostlik and wife Joanne of Shell Rock; Janice Zrostlik of Des Moines; Betty Harms and husband Harris of Burt and James Zrostlik and wife Ju of Korea; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great grandchildren, a brother Herbert Egts and his wife Barbara of Waverly.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
