Mardell Dorothy Dean

Mardell D. Dean, 78, of Clarion, passed away Friday, Nov 9, 2012, at The Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Clarion.

A memorial service will be held for Mardell Dean on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, in Clarion with Pastor Bill Kem officiating.  There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour before the memorial service at the funeral home.

Mardell was born on March 3, 1934, in Rowan to Oscar Alverson and Nellie Johnson. She attended and graduated from Clarion High School in 1952.  She was united in marriage to Douglas Alan Dean on Feb 19, 1953.  To this union were born two sons - Douglas Jr. and David.

She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Burton Tracy and later All Star Pro Golf

She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Mardell is survived by her two sons: Douglas Dean Jr and wife Jean of Bremerton, Washington; David Dean and wife Deborah of Clarion; three grandchildren:  Douglas (17), Brian (14) and Rebecca (8); two sisters:  Marcy Downing of Clarion and Gloria Alverson of Des Moines; one brother Oscar Alverson and wife Sherry of New Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers; and three sisters.
