Obituary


Margaret K. Clagett, 92, of Clarion passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Careage of Clarion in Clarion.

In keeping with her wishes, Margaret’s body has been cremated.  There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Margaret, the daughter of Charles and Jane (Lorraine) Wolf, was born on January 15, 1917 in Holmes.  Margaret was raised in the Holmes and Clarion areas, graduating from Clarion High School in 1935.

On September 15, 1935, she was united in marriage to Richard “Carroll” Clagett in Webster City.

Margaret worked for many years as a secretary and receptionist in Dr. Snively’s office and at Bunn’s Plumbing Shop, both in Clarion.

Margaret enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, walking, crocheting, and making crafts of all kinds.  She was also very active in the Clarion VFW.  One of her many duties included helping to keep the cemetery flags in good repair.

Margaret also enjoyed spending time with her friends, and was a member of the Clarion Church of Christ.

Margaret is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her parents, one brother, Harold, and sister-in-law Marge.
