Margaret May Martin, age 88, of Clarion, Iowa passed away Thursday, June 21,
2007 at the USA Health Center in Clarion, Iowa.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, June 25, 2007 at the United
Presbyterian Church in Clarion, with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Interment will
take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.
A visitation will take place from 5-7 PM, Sunday, June 24, 2007 at the Ewing
Dugger Helgeson Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street, Clarion, Iowa, 50525, and
will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Margaret May (Graves) Martin, the daughter of Edward and Pearl (Griffith) Graves
was born March 11, 1919 in Eagle Grove Township. She attended school and
graduated from Goldfield High School.
Maggie was united in marriage on June 27, 1942 to Leighton Earl Martin in
Bethany, Missouri. To this union three children were born Gary, Ed, and Sandie
all of Clarion.
Maggie was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary and VFW. She enjoyed
playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and watching TV.
She is survived by her three children; Gary and his wife Laurie, Ed and his wife
Jane, Sandie Malooly and her husband Bill, all of Clarion; seven grandchildren,
Danielle Hansch and her husband Paul, Bradd Martin, Rod Martin and his wife
Tara, Jeff Martin, Marissa and Bruce Hamilton, Ariel Malooly; four
great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Quinn, and Lauren Hansch, and Jacob Martin; sisters
Norene Elberg and her husband Charles of Eagle Grove, Mary Thompson and her
husband Hans of Goldfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Maggie was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband; infant son and
daughter; two brothers, and one sister.
