Margery Ann, daughter of Lawrence and Odelia (Hames) Murphy, was born on June 12, 1938 in Clarion. Margery was raised in Clarion and graduated from Clarion High School in 1956.

On May 27, 1957, Marge was united in marriage to Leland Harold Dahlgren at St. John’s Catholic Church. Marge worked at the First National Bank, and then later worked at Cargill Inc. for 20 years until she retired in 1993. She was prominently involved with the CCD education program for St. John’s for many years.

Marge enjoyed playing cards regularly with her card club, family and playing piano. Most important to Marge was her family. Over the years, they vacationed to Illinois and Kansas to visit family. Family reunions were always hosted at Marge and Lee’s home.

Marge will be remembered for her strength. She acquired dementia in her late 50s and remained a strong example for her family.

Marge is survived by her three children James (Rita) Dahlgren of Algona, Lori (Bill) Eldridge of Spokane, Washington, and Anne (Mark) Peters of Estherville; seven grandchildren Lisa, Doug, Olivia, Danielle, Nolan, Eli, and Nicholas; three great-grandchildren Rachel, Amber, and Garrett; two brothers James (Jo) Murphy and Denny (Janice) Murphy; sister Shirley (Richard) Berens; sister-in-law Joan Murphy; and many nieces and nephews.
