Marilyn Jean Rasmuson was born April 17, 1939 to William and Carol (Cosgriff) Rasmuson at Stilson.

Following her graduation from Britt High School, Marilyn graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught for two years in Forest City.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Raymond Bruns on December 27, 1959 and to this union, five sons were born.  The couple farmed north west of Britt where they lived until moving into town in January of 2010.

Marilyn loved her family and attended as many of her children’s and grandchildren’s events as possible.  She also made a quilt for each of her grandchildren at graduation and wrote letters to her college aged grandchildren on a monthly basis.
