Obituary


Marilyn L. “Red” Perkins, 74, of Britt passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt.

Funeral services for Marilyn Perkins will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Ewing Funeral Home, 178 Center Street West in Britt. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt.

Visitation for Marilyn Perkins will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt.

Marilyn Louise Perkins was born October 12, 1944 to Curtis and Emma (Schroeder) Quinn in West Bend, Iowa. In her youth, the family farmed west of Whittemore and then later in Wesley, where she was raised and educated.

In 8th grade, when the Corwith and Wesley schools combined, Marilyn met Bobby Perkins. The couple were married on May 16, 1963 while Bobby was home on leave from the service. The couple later lived in Washington state until Bobby was discharged and eventually moved back to Iowa.

Marilyn enjoyed country music, watching Western movies and was an avid WWE Wrestling fan.

Marilyn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bobby Perkins of Britt; sons Devery (Dawn) Perkins of Britt, Curt (Michele Younger) Perkins of Garner and Bobby (Melissa) Perkins of Winona, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and 7 brothers and sisters.
