Obituary
Marilynn O. Engelbrecht, 82, of Belmond and formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond.
Funeral services for Marilynn Engelbrecht will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 17, 2014, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Harrisonville, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church prior to the service. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM at Floral Hills East in Lee’s Summit, Missouri following the luncheon at the church.
Ewing Funeral Home in Clarion is assisting the family with local arrangements.
Mrs. Engelbrecht was born June 22, 1931, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Benjamin E. Cruzan and Helena M. Princelaw. Marilynn worked as a bookkeeper at the Federal Reserve and Park National Bank prior to being a wife, mother and homemaker. She also managed the finances for her husband’s business, Cass County Ceramics. Marilynn married Lawrence O. Engelbrecht of Kansas City, Missouri on September 30, 1950.
Marilynn is survived by her children Cheryl Edwards and husband Dale of Beloit, Wisconsin, Deborah Engelbrecht of Nevada, Missouri, Dwayne Engelbrecht of Kansas City, Missouri, Janette (Erdman) Swenson and husband Jim of Belmond, Iowa, and Jennifer Bolduc and husband Richard of St. Peters, Missouri; 10 grandchildren including Katie Boeshart and husband Kevin, Kristin Erdman, and Kristopher Erdman; 7 great grandchildren and brothers, Marvin and wife Macy of Shell Knob, Missouri, and Allen of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a son-in-law.
