Obituary
Marion Loretta Chambers, age 89, of Dows, passed away Thursday December 4, 2014 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.
Loretta was born September 1, 1925 to John and Charlotte Reinke Wirtz in Belmond. She grew up in the Dows area where she attended country school. She graduated from Dows High School in 1944.
Loretta married Harlan Dale Chambers on March 23, 1946 in Dows. Four children were born to this union.
They lived in Dows where Loretta worked at various jobs in Dows, a telephone operator, cleaned houses and babysat. She worked at Morton's Pies in Webster City for a time. Loretta worked for two different veterinarians in Dows for 15 years. Loretta worked at Casey's where she was well known by many.
Loretta is survived by a daughter Carol (John) Johnson of Brooklyn Park, MN, sons William (Barb) Chambers of Dows, Steven (Connie) Chambers of Galt, and Donald (Donna) Chambers of Eagle Grove; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Elmer (Audrey) Wirtz of Dows, sister Elsie (Darwin) Lekwa of Ames, sister-in-law Phyllis Wirtz of Hampton, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Raymond (Clarice) Chambers of Lacona; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1993, great-granddaughter Gabriella Cotton, two brothers Raymond and Art, and two sisters Irene and Florence.
