Obituary


A Mass of Christian Burial for Marjorie Kinseth will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1207 3rd Street North East in Belmond with Father Jerry Blake officiating. Graveside services will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Belmond.  The service will be live streamed on the church Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/holyfamilycluster.

Visitation for Marjorie Kinseth will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, with a Rosary Scriptural Wake Service beginning at 4:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond, and will continue one hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday morning.  

Marjorie F. (Zeimet) Kinseth was born August 3, 1937, in St. Joseph, Iowa to Henry W. and Lona (Illg) Zeimet. She lived on a farm near Bancroft with her nine siblings and graduated from St. John’s Catholic High School in 1955.

On June 4, 1960, Marge was united in marriage to Jerry Wilhite at the St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft. They lived in Fort Collins, Colorado while Jerry served in the United States Army, then settled in Corwith, Iowa where they bought and managed a bar and restaurant together. They had one son, Todd, and two daughters, Brenda and Connie. After their last child graduated from high school, they moved to Belmond, Iowa where Marjorie worked in the food service at Eaton Corporation. Their last adventure together was purchasing Jerry’s 2nd Chance, a restaurant and bar in Belmond before they both retired. Jerry passed away on July 25, 2004.

On January 4, 2008, Marjorie married Roland Kinseth at St. Francis Xavier Church in Belmond. They made their home in Belmond where they enjoyed fishing and being together. Marjorie was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Belmond. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, cooking, baking, and spending time with friends and family.

Marjorie died April 4, 2021, at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond from complications of appendicitis. She was 83.

Marjorie is survived by her husband: Roland Kinseth of Belmond; three children: Todd (Rita) Wilhite of Windsor Heights, Iowa, Brenda DeBerg (Brent) of Bristow, Iowa, and Connie Steward (Clint) of Marion, Iowa; two step-children Marc (Linda) Kinseth of Vail, Arizona and Sherri Kinseth of Belmond; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren: Joshua, Nicholas (Brittany), Steven, Michael, Chance (Ashley), Casey, Ryan, and Hayley; one great-grandchild: Samuel (son of Nicholas and Brittany); sister: Josie (Sam) Weatherly; sister-in-law Edna Zeimet; brother-in-law Ted (Trish) Wilhite and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lona Zeimet; husband, Jerry; five brothers, Ernest, Eugene, Julius, Art, and Leo Zeimet; sisters, Gertie (George) Diers, Elsie (Bernard) Kunkel, and Gladys (Orville) Thill; and brothers-in-law James Kunkel and Bill Wilhite.
