Obituary


Pastor Mark David Heath, 69, of Keokuk, Iowa passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at his home in Keokuk.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt. Burial will follow at Clear Lake Memorial Cemetery, N 20thStreet, Clear Lake, Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt.

Mark was born July 13, 1954 in Belle Plaine, Iowa to Paul and Mildred Heath. Mark graduated from Central High School in Sioux City, Iowa, Morningside College with Bachelor’s degree in History and his Masters at The University of Dubuque Theological Seminary. As a United Methodist Pastor he served the following congregations Edgewood United Methodist Church, Des Moines First United Methodist Church, Council Bluffs Epworth United Methodist Church, Carroll United Methodist Church, Carter Lake United Methodist Church and Lu Verne and Kanawha United Methodist Church.

He was very active in the Freemasonry being a Past Master at Mt. Pleasant #8, Past Grand Chaplain of Royal Arch Masons of Iowa, Past Grand Chaplain of Royal and Select Masters of Iowa, Past Grand Prelate of Grand Commandery of Iowa and Consistory (32nd Degree).

Mark enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed watching and supporting all Iowa sports.

Mark is survived by his siblings Paul and Ruth Heath, Coralville, Iowa, Phil Heath, Algona, Iowa, Karen and Steve Schweiger Omaha, Nebraska, Jane Morgan, Omaha, Nebraska. Nieces and nephews Spencer Heath, Meredith and Brent Mattes, Cooper and Jean Heath, Preston Schweiger, Carmen Schweiger and Blake Lofing, Dalton and Alison Morgan, Monique and Brian Visocky, and his great nieces and nephews

Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
