Marvin Stupka, 78, of Kanawha, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Funeral services for Marvin Stupka will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Holmes Baptist Church, 2137 Hancock Avenue in Holmes.  Burial will be at Amsterdam Township Cemetery in Kanawha. Marvin Edward Stupka was born on December 19, 1942, in Clarion, Iowa, to Edward and Fern (Vroman) Stupka.  He grew up on the farm and always enjoyed the outdoors.  Marv loved to hunt, fish, and camp. At age 11 he trusted in Christ as his personal Savior while attending Bible camp near Clear Lake. He graduated from Clarion High School in 1960 and went on to Hamilton Business College in Mason City after graduation.  While attending college, he met Mary Peters from Forest City, and they were married on October 20, 1961. Marvin worked at a bank in Rockford, Iowa, and a car dealership in Clarion before landing a job at the Farmers State Bank in Kanawha.  He served at the bank for many years while also working as a real estate and insurance agent.  After "semi-retiring" from these occupations, Marv started a pheasant hunting preserve on his farm. Pheasant Haven gave him the opportunity to enjoy working in the outdoors and spending time with family and hunters from all over the U.S. Throughout his life, Marv was a member of the Holmes Baptist Church, and he served there as the church's treasurer and financial secretary. Many of his best friends were from Holmes Baptist, and he enjoyed participating in church activities, especially outdoor ones.  His family and friends remember his great sense of humor and the jokes he loved to tell. Family was a huge priority in Marvin's life. He and his wife, Mary, had three children, and they spent much time together. He led the family on fishing trips to Minnesota, Alaska, and Canada, and they also enjoyed camping and hunting trips in Colorado. He enjoyed these outdoor activities, but he especially loved doing these things with his family.  Not only did he spend time with Mary and his three children, but he also greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in recent years. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Mary, son Mark (Janice) of Ankeny, son Mike of Claremont, Minnesota, daughter Miriam (Brad) Leckrone of Kanawha; eleven grandchildren - Bethany (Joe) Gittins, Andrew (Cassandra) Stupka, Tiffany (Andrew) Gladfelter, Nathan (Aubree) Stupka, Levi (Maddie) Leckrone, Luke Leckrone, Elizabeth (Nathan) Stahl,  Josiah,  Joshua, Emerald and Abigail Leckrone; eight great-grandchildren – Bristol, Myah, and Laurel Gittins; Jada, Audra, and Arianna Stupka, Kaylynn Leckrone, and Morgan Gladfelter. Marv was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Stupka.
