Obituary
Mary A. Negrete, age 82, of Salt Lake City, Utah, formerly of Belmond, passed away Thursday February 26, 2014 at Wentworth – Stratford of Draper Long Term Care Facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary A. Negrete will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday March 6, 2014 at the St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belmond. Rev. Nils Hernandez will officiate. Burial will be in the St Francis Cemetery near Belmond. Visitation for Mary A. Negrete will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday March 5, 2014 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. A Scriptural Wake will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mary Ann, the daughter of Simon and Angelina Hernandez Negrete Sr. was born September 25, 1931 in Belmond. Mary grew up in Belmond and attended and graduated from Belmond High School in 1950. After high school, Mary attended Nursing College. She would work her entire life as a Registered Nurse. Mary lived and worked at large hospitals in several cities around the United States. Mary enjoyed traveling, and was an avid snow-skier.
Mary is survived by her sisters, Jean Schwartz of Belmond, Connie (Cecil) Swanson of Des Moines, Nellie (Marvin) Fleming of Omaha, NE, Ruth (Tom) Matthews of Neptune Beach, FL, Stella (Geoerge) Baugous of Milo, MI, brothers, Simon Jr. (Rose) Negrete of Draper, UT, Robert Negrete of Spirit Lake, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Rose and Isabel, brothers, Joseph, John and Jesus.
