Mary Ann Tryon, 93, formerly of Reeds Spring, MO, passed away peacefully on
August 28, 2023 at the Westview Care Center in Britt, IA. She was born in
Titonka, IA on June 21, 1930 to Dietrich "Dick" and Marie (Plaisier) Baade. Mary
was a beacon of love, generosity, and wit.
Mary Ann and her beloved husband, Stanley, lived the majority of their lives in
Reeds Spring, MO. The couple was inseparable, cherishing 73 years of marriage
before Stanley's passing in 2021. They enjoyed Branson's shows, making friends
with many of the performers. The Tryon home always was a sanctuary of love,
welcoming many special souls over the years. Their generous hearts and open
doors turned friends into "family." Mary's quick wit and infectious laughter
ensured that her presence was a source of joy for all who knew her. In 2020,
they moved to Britt to be closer to family.
Life had its challenges which proved to show Mary Ann's resilience. Tragedy
touched their lives on Mother's Day 1965 when their cherished daughter, Linda
Jo, was taken too soon at the age of 15 in a car/train accident with Mary
receiving serious injuries requiring a long recovery time. A heartwarming twist
of fate happened in 1996 when Mary Ann was reunited with a daughter she had
placed for adoption when a teen.. Cheryl and her husband Dan enjoyed being a
part of Stanley and Mary Ann's lives.
Mary was a homemaker and manager of rental homes but her passion was being an
artist with fabric. Mary Ann had an unparalleled talent and passion for hand
quilting. Her quilts, each a labor of love, found their way into countless
homes, warming both bodies and souls.
She is survived by her only remaining sister of 9 siblings, JoAnn Asa of
Okoboji, her daughter Cheryl (Dan) Peabody of Branson, her brother in law Max
Bierstedt of Denver, CO and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Stanley; daughter Linda Jo;
sisters, Irene Baker, Louise Goetsch, Alvina Bierstedt, Deloris Baade; brothers,
Walter Baade, Raymond Baade, and Alfred Baade Sisters in law, Mary Lee Baade,

September 16th at 1:00 pm.
