Mary Watts, 91, of Clarion passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Careage of
Clarion. Memorial services for Mary Watts will be held at Monday, April 21, 2008
at 10:30 a.m. at the Clarion Church of Christ with Pastor Tim Platt
officiating. Mary, the daughter of Jarret and Mabel (Michael) Goodman was born
December 27, 1916, in Dallas County, Iowa. She graduated from Johnston High
School in 1935. Mary was united in marriage with Alre Watts in February of
1945. The couple made their home at Lake Cornelia, where they were longtime
residents. Mary was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She was a member of the
Church of Christ in Clarion where she was a Sunday School teacher for many
years. Mary also served as financial secretary for 26 years at the Church of
Christ. She was also Past Chairman for the Wright County Republicans and Past
Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Mary is survived by her son Robert Watts of
Belmond; brother Major Goodman and his wife Sheila of Raleigh, North Carolina;
sister Margaret Klobnac and her husband Howard of Norwalk; brother Jarret
Goodman and wife Barbara of Wisconsin; numerous nieces and nephews along with
other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by parents; husband
Alre; brother Bob Goodman; and sisters Hazel Langness and Dorthea Hurd.
