Melvin LeRoy was born December 5, 1949 to Floyd and Dorothy (Fish) Armstrong and grew up in Wesley.

Nick inherited his love of animals from his mom and loved to ride horses like her.  He enjoyed barrel racing or even an easy horseback ride with friends and family.  He also had a love of training dogs from coonhounds to bird dogs and enjoyed watching them work and do as he asked.

Nick took up an apprenticeship, in Phoenix, Arizona, to learn to lay carpet and tile which he did for several years.  He also was a factory welder and was employed at Snap On, Winnebago, IMT, Stellar and Brougham.

He got his love of trucking from his dad.  He drove a dump truck, cement truck and after receiving his CDL he drove semi for Monson Trucking and others.

He enjoyed the outdoors and passed his love of fishing and hunting on to his nieces and nephews.  He loved teaching Matt and Cody about safe hunting.  Nick was all about fun.  He loved to ride motorcycles which passed he passed along to his siblings.  He sold his sister her first and last bike.

Nick enjoyed going to car shows and would talk about them for a week after.  He had some nice classic cars and race cars which he always thought he could make faster.  His favorite being El Caminos.

His greatest love was his family.  Left to cherish his memories are his sister Deb (Kevin) McDermott of Britt, his brother Larry (Julie) Armstrong of Wesley and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Calvin Armstrong, Sr., nephew Kevin Armstrong and a special grandmother Louise Fish.
