Obituary


Merv Lemmon, 71, passed away surrounded by his loving daughters on January 1st, 2023.

Memorial services for Merv Lemmon will be held at 4:30 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, in Britt, with Pastor Robert Dodge officiating.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 4:30 PM at Ewing Funeral Chapel in Britt, followed by food & refreshments. A private burial will take place at a later date.

Merv was born August 10th, 1951, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Harold (late) and Eva (late) Lemmon. He married Gloria (Lichman) Lemmon on June 13th, 1970. They settled in Augusta, Wisconsin in 1976 where they raised their children and Merv pursued his dream of farming for over 30 years.

Merv also worked for Pro Poly of America in Augusta, where he was employed as a plant manager for many years. After that he and Gloria owned and operated the Heartland Diner in Britt, Iowa, which they sold, and he officially retired to Texas in 2020.

Merv was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for this. Also, for his passion for farming and his fun, joking and feel-good spirit that he brought to many. Regularly sporting a can of Pepsi, anyone who knew Merv also knew of his love for the Green Bay Packers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria (Lichman) Lemmon; father and mother, Harold and Eva Lemmon; father-in-law John Lichman; sister, Rosalie Warner; brother, Harold Lemmon, Jr; brother Larry Lemmon.

Merv leaves behind daughter Kari Wolfe (and son-in-law Mike Wolfe, grandson Jake Wolfe); daughter Nicki Lemmon Schwamb (and grandson Carson Schwamb); mother-in-law, Wavel Lichman; brother, Rodney (Kathy) Lemmon. Sister-in-laws, Debbie Larson, Sheri Moore, Pam (Dan) Kline; special son-like friend, Andrew Sell; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
