Michael Kumsher, 92, of Britt passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Westview Care Center.
Michael, the son of Michael and Stella (Cipera) Kumsher, was born October 3, 1915 in rural Hancock County southeast of Britt. He attended country school and then helped on his family farm.
Michael was united in marriage with Agnes Ptacek on November 22, 1938 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. The couple farmed the family farm east of Britt until 1997 when they moved into Britt.
He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing cards.
Michael was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where he was an usher.
Knowing he is at peace with the Lord and mourning his loss are one son, Ronald Kumsher and his wife, Carolyn of Garner; six daughters: Charlene Aukes and her husband, Denny of Mason City, Jeraldine Peterson and her husband, Larry of Corwith, Carolyn DeKruif and her husband, Don of Britt, Darlene Francis and Tim Lyman of Faribault, Minnesota, Judy Thompson and her husband, Jerry of Crystal Lake, and Marilyn Kumsher of Opportunity Village in Clear Lake; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Adeline “Tress” Anderson of Mason City, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Agnes in 2005, two sisters: Clara Loy and Anna Kumsher, and one brother Ed.
