Milford, the son of William and Tena (Luthro) Thompson was born December 27, 1913 on the family farm near Kanawha. Milford was raised in the Kanawha area where he attended country school.

Milford was united in marriage with Rose Kallem on February 11, 1940 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. The couple lived in the Kanawha, Gowrie and LuVerne communities. For Milford, farming was a life long occupation and he continued to farm well into his 80’s.

Then as his wife’s health changed, it was his turn to care for her. With his help they maintained their independence until her death.

After the loss of his beloved wife Rose in 2006, he continued to live his life to the fullest. He had interests in his families farming operations and their lives. He loved to travel and stay with his daughter and sons. Milford lived his whole life making sure that “family was number one.”

Milford was a longtime member of the Kanawha Lutheran church. He will be always remembered as a good and honest man.
