Morris Milbern Miller, 83, of Clarion passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 at
Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.
Morris Melbern Miller son of Christian H. and Gertrude Agnes (Hill) Miller was
born May 9, 1922 in Latimer, Iowa. Morris graduated from Alexander High School
in 1939. In 1939 he moved to Clarion. Morris was State 4-H secretary in 1940. He
worked for his father on the dairy and grain farm becoming a partner in 1941.
On June 19, 1949 Morris was united in marriage to Marjorie Joyce Sanders.
On June 29, 1951 a son Roger Kevin was born.
Morris was active in many different organizations; 50 year member of Cyrene
Lodge, No. 325, Clarion School Board from 1961 to 1969 serving as President in
1969, Wright County Fair Board, President Iowa Holstein Association from 1962 to
1963, Board of Directors Holstein Friesian Association of America from 1963 to
1971, Chairman National Holstein Convention Organizing Committee in 1971, served
on the Board of Directors of the Clarion Elevator Co-op for many years, member
of the City of Clarion Planning and Zoning Committee, honorary member Iowa State
University Dairy Science Club, member of the National Dairy Shrine Club, Dairy
Judge at county, district and state shows, member Clarion Lions Club, longtime
member and usher at Clarion United Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Joyce; son, Dr. Roger
Kevin Miller and his wife Jo Anne of Duluth, Minnesota, grandchildren, Nicholas
Miller of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ryan Miller, Alexandra Miller both of Duluth,
Minnesota; sisters, Florence Valen of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Mildred Lyons of
Ossian, Iowa, and Joyce Nail of Clarion.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Chris and Gertrude; and brother, Leroy.
