Myra Madolyn Kelley, 96, of Eagle Grove passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020
at the Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove.
A Celebration of Myra's life will be held at a later date.
Myra Madolyn Luse was born on November 9, 1924 to Ira A. and Annetta C. (Womack)
Luse, in Lineville, Iowa, the seventh of eleven children.
On November 18, 1944 she was united in marriage to Merle Dwight Kelley in
Corydon, Iowa. Myra moved to Rock Island, Illinois on her own to work at the
arsenal while Merle served in the Navy. They lived and worked in Southern Iowa
as their family grew and moved to the Eagle Grove area in 1952. The family built
a new house in Clarion in 1962. Myra enjoyed oil painting, gardening and taking
care of her family.
After retirement, Myra and Merle spent many winters in Mission, Texas, and then
in Greenbrier, Arkansas where they enjoyed bird watching, slot machines,
visiting with neighbors, traveling, and playing the card game Skipbo.
Myra is survived by her daughters Marilyn (Fred) Schnell of Eagle Grove, Patty
(Keith) LaRue of Clarion, sons Michael, Myron (Nho) of Novato, California and
Merle J. of Wingina, Virginia; grandchildren Nancy (Doug Harkema) Schnell,
Brenda (Kevin) Adams all of Eagle Grove, Christopher (Amy) LaRue of Chandler,
Arizona, Keith A. (Lindsey) LaRue of Goldfield, Cody LaRue of Clarion, Thuan
Nguyen, Hai Nguyen, and Sarah Kelley all of Novato, California;
great-grandchildren Lindy Collins, Brandon (Heather) Evje, Hailey Adams all of
Eagle Grove, Jude and Dane LaRue of Chandler, Arizona, Kyrstin, Austin, and Kali
LaRue of Goldfield; great-great-grandchildren Abigail, Mary, Keylee, Kiyah and
Korah Collins, Kaylynn Kepler, Lincoln Evje all of Eagle Grove, Anthony and
Angelina Jones of California; siblings Myron "Jack" Luse and Helen Browning, and
many extended family members and friends.
Myra was preceded in death by her husband Merle in 2012, parents, siblings
Margaret, Charles, Iris, Mildred, Jessie, Richard, Marion, and Robert.
