Naomi R. Maxheimer, 83, of Clarion passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City. Funeral services for Naomi Maxheimer will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Clarion Church of Christ, 420 North Main Street in Clarion, with Pastor Warren Curry officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Clarion Church of Christ and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Naomi Rae (Tillman) Maxheimer, daughter of Ray and Vera (Mechem) Tillman was born May 1, 1935 at Clear Lake, Iowa. She was raised in the Dows area. Naomi graduated from Dows Community School and the G.A.L.E. Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Naomi worked for American Airlines at LaGuardia Field in Queens, New York, then she worked for Drs. Davis and Cooper. Naomi was united in marriage to Robert Harold Cordiner, and to this union two children were born: Linda Rae and Robert John. She returned to Iowa in 1970 and worked for Dr. Eaton at the Clarion Clinic until his retirement, then for Dr. Whitters until her retirement. On September 4th, 1984 she was married to Paul E. Maxheimer. The couple resided in Clarion. Naomi was a member of the Clarion Church of Christ. She served as a Deaconess, on the church board, was Past-President of General Aid, Past-President of Kum Join Us Circle and was Past-President of Union Aid. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, prayer group and cooked "What's for Supper." She was a choir member, served Meals on Wheels, and served communion to shut-ins. Naomi was President of Clarion Garden Club for a number of years. She was also a member of T.T.T. and loved being a part of the M and M's. Naomi worked as Wright County Chairman for Hillary Clinton's campaign for President. Naomi had the heart of a servant. Her unconditional love was felt by all whose lives she touched. She was indeed the original "Martha Stewart" which was her nickname to many who knew her. Naomi is survived by her two children Linda (Greg) DeNio of Dows and Robert Cordiner of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; grandchildren Joel (Courtney) DeNio, Susanne Faye DeNio, Andrew (Christina) DeNio, Gage Cordiner; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings Phyllis Brinkman of Clarion, Bonnie Foust of Spencer, and Burgess Tillman of Sacramento, California; along with many nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul Maxheimer, her sisters Selma, Eleanor and Virginia and brothers Bud and Corbin.
