Nicholas "Nick" Arthur Shaw, 24, of Clarion passed away on Saturday, February
16, 2008 at his home in Clarion. Funeral services for Nick Shaw will be held at
10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the St Olaf Church in rural
Belmond with Pastor Lowell Halvorson officiating. Burial will take place in the
church cemetery. Visitation for Nick Shaw will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
on Tuesday, February19, 2008 at the Ewing Funeral Home, 602 North Main Street,
in Clarion and continue one hour prior to services at the church. Nicholas
Arthur Shaw son of Dana Lindvall and Raymond Shaw was born April 6, 1983 in
Omaha, Nebraska. Dana and Nick moved back to Clarion where he was raised and
graduating from Clarion-Goldfield High School in 2001. After high school he
attended Iowa Lakes Community Collage in Emmetsburg for auto mechanics and later
transferred to Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo. He then returned to Clarion and has
been employed at Hagie's Manufacturing since March 2005. During high school Nick
wrestled, played football, and ran track. He was a member of 4-H for 6 years. He
enjoyed hunting and was a member of Hagie's bowling team. Nick was an avid
Raider's and Iowa Hawkeye fan. But Nick's best times were spent with his family
and friends. Nick was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Belmond, Iowa. Nick
is survived by his mother, Dana Lindvall and her fiancée Mark Southard of
Clarion; father Raymond Shaw of Elkhorn, Nebraska; maternal grandmother Thelma
Lindvall of Clarion; maternal grandfather Richard Lindvall of Clarion; maternal
great grandmother, Cleona Tegland of Belmond; paternal grandmother June Shaw of
Clarion; paternal grandfather Jim Shaw of Eagle Grove; special friend Tara
Sebert and her daughter Makaylee of Clarion; Aunts, Jayne and Gary Miller of
Mason City; Brenda Lindvall of Barnevold, Wisconsin, Peggy and Jason
Schluttenhofer and their children Emma and Calvin of Clarion; uncles Marty Shaw
of Omaha, Steve Shaw of Virginia and four half brothers: Alex, Ryan, John and
Scott; a host of friends and other extended family. He was preceded by his
maternal great grandfather Leslie Tegland and Nels Lindvall and great
grandmother Violet Lindvall.
