Obituary


Norris J. Larson, 81, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 1993 at his home in Britt, Iowa.

Norris, the son of Chris and Helen (Vorland) Larson, was born July 12, 1912 in Eagle Grove, Iowa.  He received his education in country schools near Britt.

He was united in marriage on June 25, 1941 to Grace Frohling in Rowan, Iowa.  The couple made their home on a farm in Britt area.  He farmed his entire life until he retired a year and half ago.  They wintered in Arizona for the past 15 years.

He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Britt, Iowa and served as Deacon, on the Board of the Evangelical Free Church for six years.  He also served as a Board Member on the Britt Farmer's CO-OP Elevator.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and visiting with friends and relatives.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Larson of Britt, Iowa; a daughter, Mardelle Larson and four children: Kimberly and her husband, Dave Hight of Mendota, Illinois, Dawn, Rick, and John Larson at home in Tulsa, Oklahoma; a son Calvin and his wife, Barbara Larson and five children: Scott, Shawn, Sarah, Shannon and Sydney at home in Britt, Iowa; two brothers Birdeen and his wife, Marian Larson of Mesa, Arizona; Leo and his wife, Margaret Larson of Britt, Iowa; a sister-in-law Gertie Frohling of Rowan, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Hazel Hinders, two brothers-in-law, Thomas Hinders and Herman Frohling, a nephew, Harold Hinders, a niece, Colleen Markham, and two infant brothers.
