Norris T. Michelson

Norris T. Michelson, 92, passed away Sunday, March 23, 1997, at the Kanawha Community Home.

Norris, the son of Severt and Ellen Marie Soma, was born October 15, 1904, on a farm near Kanawha, Iowa.  He was baptized and confirmed at the Kanawha Lutheran Church, where he was a life long member.  Norris attended country school near his family farm.  He farmed until 1952, when he moved into Kanawha.  Norris was employed for 15 years with the Department of Agriculture working at various grain bin sites.  Following his retirement he continued to live in Kanawha until be became a resident of the Kanawha Community Home on August 28, 1996.

He is survived by his two brothers: Ernest and his wife, Oviedia, Harold and his wife Marie all of Kanawha, IA; many nieces and nephews.

Norris was preceded in death by his parents, Severt and Ella Marie Michelson, a sister Melva Erickson O'Banion, and three brothers: Gilford, Sam and John.
