Obituary
Opal A. Rust, 96, of Britt passed away Friday, February 16, 2001 at the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha, Iowa.
Opal, the daughter of George and Lucy (Hunt) Rust, was born August 17, 1904, near Kanawha. She grew up and received her education in the rural Kanawha area.
Opal later lived in California for a short time. She then moved to Mason City, where she was employed in the dietary department of Mercy Hospital. Upon her retirement in 1970, Opal moved to Britt where she resided until May 11, 1999, when she became a resident of the Kanawha Community Home.
Opal was a member of the United Methodist Church in Britt.
Opal is survived by one brother, Raymond of Kanawha; eight nieces and nephews: Maylene Schreur of Kanawha, Marjorie Dibben of Blair, Nebraska, Donald Tesdahl of Rome, Italy, Merle Rust of Kanawha, Jerry Rust of Goldfield, Richard Rust of Mason City, Ray White and Shirley Clifton both of California.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Vera Tesdahl and Eva White and one brother, Louis Rust.
