Pablo Duran Ramirez, Sr., 54 of Hampton, formerly of Clarion, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Pablo Duran, Sr. will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 18, 2022 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 608 2nd Avenue North East in Clarion. Burial will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation for Pablo Duran, Sr. will be held from 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion with a Scriptural Wake Service beginning at 3:30 PM and a Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at the church.

Pablo Duran Ramirez, Sr. was born June 29, 1968 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Jose Duran Frias and Josefina Ramirez Sigala. He was the sixth of twelve children, and grew up in Jalisco, Mexico with his family.

Pablo moved to Texas in 1984, where he worked as a cattle rancher, before moving to Maine, Maryland, Missouri and eventually, to Dows, Iowa in 1991.

Pablo was united in marriage to Magaly Correa Dones on November 2, 1990, and to this union, children Pablo Jr., Marco Antonio and Joanna Marie, were born. The family made their home in Clarion.

Since coming to Iowa, Pablo worked in the poultry industry. He also owned a trucking business for a number of years, and began working for Sukup in Sheffield last year.

Pablo was later united in marriage to Emma Calles, on August 31, 2016, and daughters Bella Jade and Alondra Jada were born. They made their home most recently in Hampton, after living a time in Ohio and Jalisco.

Pablo enjoyed trips back home to visit family and friends, connecting his children to their roots in Jalisco. He was proud of his heritage and was well-known and respected in Mexico as well as in Iowa. Pablo will be remembered for his sense of humor, for being a jokester and prankster, and for his beaming smile. Most importantly, he loved his children and grandchildren, was very kind and generous, often helping those less fortunate than he was, whenever he had the chance.

Pablo is survived by his wife, Emma Calles of Hampton; children Pablo Jr. (Enedina) Duran of Belmond, Marco Antonio (fiancé Kay Lea Greif) Duran of Ankeny, Joanna Marie Correa Dones of Cedar Rapids, Bella Jade Duran Calles of Hampton and Alondra Jada Duran Calles of Hampton; grandchildren Valeria Torres, Jael Pablo Duran and Camila Guadalupe Duran of Belmond; his mother, Josefina Ramirez Sigala; siblings Benjamin, Saul, J. Luis, Enedelia, Jaime, J. Santos, Noemi, Victor and Ulisses; along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

Pablo was preceded in death by his father Jose Duran Frias; his siblings Emilio and Ezequiel; and his nephew, Armando Duran.

El velorio para Pablo Duran, Sr. se llevará a cabo de 3:30 p. m. a 6:00 p. m. el jueves 17 de noviembre de 2022 en Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East en Clarion con un servicio de velatorio bíblico a partir de las 3:30 p. m. un Rosario a partir de las 6:00 PM. El velorio continuará una hora antes de la misa del viernes en la iglesia.

Pablo Duran Ramirez, Sr. nació el 29 de junio de 1968 en Zacatecas, México, hijo de Jose Duran Frias y Josefina Ramirez Sigala. Fue el sexto de doce hijos y creció en Jalisco, México con su familia.

Pablo se unió en matrimonio con Magaly Correa Dones el 2 de noviembre de 1990, y de esta unión nacieron los hijos Pablo Jr., Marco Antonio y Joanna Marie. La familia hizo su hogar en Clarion.

Desde que llegó a Iowa, Pablo trabajó en la industria avícola. También fue dueño de un negocio de camiones durante varios años y comenzó a trabajar para Sukup en Sheffield el año pasado.

A Pablo le sobreviven su esposa, Emma Calles de Hampton; hijos Pablo Jr. (Enedina) Duran de Belmond, Marco Antonio (novia Kay Lea Greif) Duran de Ankeny, Joanna Marie Correa Dones de Cedar Rapids, Bella Jade Duran Calles de Hampton y Alondra Jada Duran Calles de Hampton; nietos Valeria Torres, Jael Pablo Durán y Camila Guadalupe Durán de Belmond; su madre, Josefina Ramírez Sigala; los hermanos Benjamín, Saúl, J. Luis, Enedelia, Jaime, J. Santos, Noemí, Víctor y Ulisses; junto con numerosas sobrinas y sobrinos, primos, otros familiares y amigos.

A Pablo le precedieron en la muerte su padre José Durán Frías; sus hermanos Emilio y Ezequiel; y su sobrino, Armando Durán.
