Obituary
Patricia M. Mattoon, 70, of Britt, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at her home.
A memorial service for Pat will be held at a later date.
Patricia Mary (Brock) Mattoon, daughter of John and Ruby (Cooper) Brock, was born on August 20, 1955, in Champaign. As the daughter of a career serviceman, Pat and her family lived in several communities before settling in Britt in 1965. She graduated from Britt High School with the Class of 1973.
Following her graduation, Pat worked alongside her family at the Ben Franklin General Store, where she became a familiar and friendly face to many in the community. She was united in marriage to Rick Mattoon at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in 1974, to this union two daughters were born Amanda and Ashley.
Together, Pat and Rick purchased the local Coast to Coast store, working side by side to serve their community. In 1991, Pat began working as a receptionist for Dr. Thede, where her warm personality and welcoming smile were appreciated by all who walked through the door.
Pat and Rick treasured their time together, especially on the golf course, at the bowling alley and throwing darts with her dart team.
She is survived by her husband Rick Mattoon; children Amanda (Stephen) Calender and Ashley (Randy) Weiskamp; six grandchildren; siblings John (Diane) Brock, Jr., Chris (Rick) Grabish, James Brock, Steven (Mina) Brock along with many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Cathy Vaught.
