Obituary


Patricia Yeakel, 78, of Kanawha passed away Friday, February 24, 2012, at the Kanawha Community Home.

Funeral services for Patricia Yeakel will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 10:30 am at the Kanawha United Methodist Church in Kanawha with Pastor Tim Rieckhoff-Faris officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in Amsterdam Township Cemetery near Kanawha.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the Ewing Funeral Home, 118 East Second Street, in Kanawha and continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Patricia, the daughter of Guy and Ethel (Hardwick) Campbell, was born October 21, 1933, in Fort Dodge.  She graduated from Fort Dodge High on June 3, 1952, and then attended Fort Dodge Junior College.

After graduation she worked at the Kanawha Nursing Home for a number of years as a dietary aid.  On July 11, 1953, she married James Oral Yeakel in Rockwell City.

Pat was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved sewing, painting, doodling and baking and was a member of Kanawha United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Pat is survived by her children, Barbara (Merlyn) Assink of Kanawha, Carol Henning and friend Bill of Bouton, Linda (Dave) Robbins of Goodell and Michael Yeakel of Kanawha; Nine grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Dean Campbell of Des Moines; sisters, Rosemary Hutchinson of Breezy Point, MN and Lila Drollinger of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, June Flattery and Bette Laird and brothers, Paul Campbell and Don Campbell.
