Patrick A. Dunavan, 71 of Mason City, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines. Public graveside services for Patrick Dunavan will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 11495 265th Street in Mason City, with Pastor Paul Collier officiating. Patrick Alan Dunavan was born July 17, 1949 to Wayne and Jacquelyn (Abel) Dunavan in Mason City. He was raised and educated in Mason City, graduating from Mason City High School with the Class of 1967. Following high school, Patrick served with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Patrick's Christian faith was the most important thing in his life. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mason City and enjoyed his church family and attending various activities at church. Patrick loved playing pool and swimming at the YMCA. Patrick is survived by his sister, Chrissy (Mike) Uhlenhopp of Alexander; nephew Jeffrey (Amanda) Uhlenhopp and their daughter Katherine of Belmond; and niece Emily (Chelsie Parks) Uhlenhopp of Roland, Iowa. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
