Peggy Miller, 62, of Britt passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 at Hancock County
Memorial Hospital in Britt.
Memorial services for Peggy Miller will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at
10:30 AM at the Britt Christian Reformed Church - At The Crossroads Ministries,
569 Main Avenue North in Britt, with Pastor Dave Prince officiating.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 from 5-7 PM at the Britt
Christian Reformed Church - At The Crossroads Ministries, 569 Main Avenue North
in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on
Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, Peggy's family suggests memorials may be directed to the
Britt Christian Reformed Church, Britt Volunteer Fire Department, Hospice of
North Iowa or West Hancock Ambulance Service.
Peggy Lee (Otto) Miller was born July 24, 1956 to Ken and Shirley (McKenna) Otto
in Brainerd, Minnesota. The family later moved to Kanawha, where Peggy was
raised and educated, graduating from Kanawha High School with the Class of 1974.
Peggy was united in marriage to Jim Miller on June 30, 1984. The couple made
their home south of Britt.
Peggy worked a variety of jobs over the years, including at Mid-American Woods
in Belmond, and after graduating from La James International College of
Cosmetology, she worked at the Hayr Stack in Britt. Later, she worked at
Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt as a housekeeper. She also helped on
the farm and at the Miller and Sons Golf Car business.
Peggy was a member of the Kanawha Lutheran Church. She was formerly active in
Britt Lioness and as a Girl Scouts leader.
Peggy enjoyed playing softball, bowling and fishing at Spirit Lake. She loved
spending time with her grandchildren, shopping and attending garage sales. She
was always known for making everyone laugh.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Jim Miller of Britt; daughters Katie (Trevor)
Grimm and their children Chloe and James of Britt and Jenny (Gerald) Awe and
their daughter Alivia of Corwith; siblings Tom (Deb) Otto of Clear Lake, Tim
(Mary) Otto of Bellevue, Nebraska, Greg Otto (Renee Halfpop-Uhlenhopp) of Wells,
Minnesota and Nancy Gilbert of Mason City; along with numerous nieces and
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her son Dale Johnson and sister
Vanetta (Mic) Molenkamp.
