Obituary


Phyllis I. Woodley, 93, of Clarion passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services for Phyllis Woodley will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Christ, 420 North Main Street, in Clarion with Pastor Warren Curry officiating.  Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East, in Clarion and will continue one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Phyllis Ilene Woodley, the daughter of Floid and Estella (Bell) Bisgrove, was born on July 30, 1919 on the family farm north of Clarion.  She attended school in Clarion and graduated in 1937.  Phyllis immediately started working for the Wright County ACSC after high school, and was there for 38 years.

On February 11, 1946, Phyllis was united in marriage to Clair Woodley at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.  The couple was blessed with one son, Gary and the family lived on the farm until 1974.

Phyllis was a member of the Church of Christ in Clarion.

Phyllis is survived by her son Gary (Sally) of Clarion; grandchildren:  Grant (Nicole) Woodley of Grimes, Amber Schippers of Indianola and Rachelle (Adam) Freybler of Nevada; six great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floid and Estella Bisgrove; her husband Clair Woodley; her sister Ila Mae Sebert; and her brother Cleo Bisgrove.
