Phyllis Jean Twait

Phyllis Jean Twait, 83, of Crystal Lake, Iowa passed away at her home Wednesday, December 11, 2013.

Funeral services for Phyllis Twait will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013, at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church, 70 5thAve NW, in Britt with Pastor Lee Nelson officiating.  Burial will be at 1:30 PM at the Crystal Lake Township Cemetery in Crystal Lake.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West, in Britt and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Phyllis was born June 22, 1930 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to her parents Roy and Clara Hutton.

On January 28, 1947, Phyllis was united in marriage to LeRoy Twait in Cylindar, Iowa.  LeRoy and Phyllis farmed near Crystal Lake, Iowa until their retirement in 1983 when they moved to the town of Crystal Lake.

Phyllis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and going to the grandchildren's activities.  She liked to take an occasional trip to the casino.

Phyllis is survived by daughter Marcia of Plymouth, Minnesota; sons LeRoy Jr. of Mankato, Minnesota; Charlesof Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Allen of Forest City, Iowa; Timand Marlene of Bettendorf, Iowa; Dan and Janell of Forest City, Iowa; Randy of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren, 1 step great-grandchild; sister, Arlene of Adel, Iowa; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy in 2012; her parents, Roy Hutton and Clara Hutton Jackson, and step-father Ed Jackson.
