Rachel R. Lubkeman, 93, of Hampton, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at
MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City.
Funeral services for Rachel Lubkeman will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May
15, 2021 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 304 West Main Street in Latimer with
Pastor Travis Berg officiating. Burial will take place at St. Paul's Lutheran
Church Cemetery in Latimer.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at St.
Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer and will continue one hour prior to services
on Saturday.
Masks are recommended.
Rachel Rosella, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Girres) Matz, was born on
September 28, 1927 at home in rural Britt. She grew up in Britt, Duncan, and
Garner. Rachel graduated from Garner High School.
On January 27, 1950, Rachel was united in marriage to Melvin Lubkeman at Trinity
Lutheran Church in Hampton. The couple made their home in Latimer and rural
Hampton where they raised their three daughters.
Rachel did accounting for the family businesses most of her married life. She
was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Rachel is survived by her three daughters Bettylou (Felix) Mejia of Tiffin,
Beverly (Curtis) Plagge of Latimer, and Bonniesue (James) Van Hove of Ackley;
seven grandchildren Christopher (Amber) Mejia, Rachel (Kyle) Mejia Sounhein, ,
Maegan (PJ) Plagge Wilkinson, Larissa Plagge (Raphael Carrao), Landon (Anne)
Plagge, Nathan (Jessie) Van Hove, and Kyle (Brittane) Van Hove; 11
great-grandchildren David Mejia, Angel Mejia, Emilia Mejia Sounhein, Adelyn
Mejia Sounhein, Samuel Mejia Sounhein, Landon Wilkinson, Cameron Wilkinson,
Finley Wilkinson, Penny Van Hove, Cully Van Hove, and Autumn Van Hove; and
sister Beulah Ann Poncin of Garner.
She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin in 2005; parents Henry and
Elizabeth Matz; and brother Virgil Matz.
