Rebecca J. Ersland, 68, of Belmond, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020, at
her home in Belmond.
Memorial services for Becky will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 10:30
AM at the Belmond United Methodist Church, 1031 1st Street South East in
Belmond, with Pastor Leila Blackburn officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are
Mitch Ersland, Mike Ersland, Greg Ersland, Eric Kraling, Joshua Kraling, Melissa
Hoffman, Cherie Behne, Chad Ersland and the late Michelle Dorr. Burial will
take place at the Belmond Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2020 from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
at the Belmond United Methodist Church.
Those in attendance are required to wear a face mask and practice social
distancing.
Rebecca Jean, a twin daughter of Richard and Ruth (Lein) Ersland, was born
February 10, 1952 in Belmond, Iowa.
Becky grew up in the Belmond area and graduated from Kenyon High School with the
class of 1970 in Kenyon, Minnesota.
Becky being a helpful, kind and generous person held various jobs taking care of
people. She worked as a hospital aide, home health and had an in-home day
care. Outside of work she continued her generosity and selflessness by
delivering congregate meals and drove friends to appointments and church. She
enjoyed cooking, baking, swimming and would spend hours on the phone talking
with her family.
She had the opportunity to participate in the Emmaus Walk which deepened her
faith. She was an active member of the Belmond United Methodist Church.
Becky is survived by her sons Todd (Amanda) Solberg of Byron, Minnesota and
their children, Zach, Ashton, Samantha and Morgan and Jonathan (Courtney)
Solberg of Rochester, Minnesota and their son Owen; brother Gary (Meredith)
Ersland; sister Roberta (Larry) McBain; sisters-in-law Jan Ersland and Beverly
(Bruce) Hogy along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Larry and twin brother Randal.
