Richard "Dick" Trulson, 78 of Britt passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at
Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt. According to his wishes, Richard has
been cremated.
Visitation for Dick Trulson will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from
11:00 – 1:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt. A
Memorial Graveside service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. The
Britt Ceremonial Unit will conduct Military Graveside Services.
Richard was born on March 16, 1936, in Woden, Iowa, the son of Theodore and
Violet (Anderson) Trulson. At the age of 6 he and his folks moved to Britt
where he received his education and graduated from Britt High School in 1954.
After graduatuation he worked at Larson Hardware until 1956, then in 1956 went
to work at the Highway Commision in Britt until 1958 when he was drafted into
the U.S. Army. Upon release from active duty in 1960 he returned to the Highway
Commission until quitting in 1967. In 1967 he worked for Pritchard Auto in
Britt as a salesman. In 2002 he retired.
Richard is survived by one daughter Jennifer Trulson Gebhart and her husband,
J.R. Gebhart and their sons Cal and Jace of Ankeny, Iowa; two sons Chad and his
wife Lori Trulson and their daughter Gracie of Decatur, Texas, Chris Trulson and
his son Cade and daughter Payton of Kerrville, Texas and one brother David
Trulson of Britt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Patricia in 2010.
