Obituary


Richard "Jim" Trenary, 61, passed away Monday, August 15, 1994, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City, Iowa.

Jim was born October 10, 1932 in Kossuth County to Clarence and Bena (Abbas) Trenary.  He attended school in the Kanawha area where he graduated from Kanawha HIgh School in 1950. After high school Jim worked for his father on the farm.

On September 24, 1952, he was united in marriage with Darlene Barz in Klemme, Iowa at the Immanual Reformed Church.  The couple made their home west of Kanawha time in the late 1960's.  An avid sportsman, Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He also enjoyed Rendezous where he would participate with other buckskinners in black powder competition.  He was the Sheep Superintendent at the Hancock County Fair, past director of the Coop Oil Board, a 4-H leader and a member of the Board of Directors for both the Norway Rural Telephone and Hancock County REC.  He was a member of the Kanawha Christian Refromed Church where he was of great service to the church.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene; one daughter, Connie Marciniak and her husband, Jim of Garner, Iowa; one son, Marvin and his wife, Nancy of Kanawha, Iowa; his parents, Clarence and Bena Trenary of Kanawha, Iowa; one sister, Marjorie TerHark and her husband, Allan of Spirit Lake, Iowa; and seven grandchildren: Dustin, Laura, James, Mike, Amy, Shannon and Cory.
