Richard 'Dick' Stockwell, 76, of Clarion, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services for Dick Stockwell will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, with Pastor Mike Foss officiating. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday. Dick was born March 5, 1943 in Laurens, Iowa to Clarence and Alice Stockwell. Dick married Phyllis Wiegand on August 20, 1967. To this union he had three children, Jennifer, Alan, and Brenda. They made their home in Clarion since 1976. Dick worked for the Vernon Company for 32 years before he retired. In his spare time, Dick loved to fish and hunt, do gardening, work in his yard, and work on walnuts and pecans in the winter. Dick loved to share his garden goodies and walnuts with friends and family. But most of all, he loved all the family to come home and hang out for the weekend. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Phyllis; children Jenny (Jeff) Brower, Al (Linnea) Stockwell, and Brenda (Boone) Boten; grandchildren Jack and Jaden Brower, Emme, Ethan, and Olin Stockwell, Zach and Cade Boten; and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Dean, Donnie, and Darrel.
