Obituary


Robert DeWayne Howlett, 71, passed away Saturday, December 5, 1992, at home.

Robert, the son of Charles and Effie (Bray) Howlett, was born October 8, 1921 on a farm north of Kanawha.  He attended and graduated from Kanawha High School.  He served with the United States Army from 1942 to 1944.

On December 20, 1944, he was united in marriage with Aljean Holm at Duncombe and the couple made their home on a farm near Kanawha.  He farmed until 1987 and in 1991 the couple moved to Britt.

He was a member of the Kanawha United Methodist Church, Methodists Men, Norway Rural Telephone Board, Farmers Co-op Elevator Board, Kanawha School Board, and worked as a Farm Bureau Hail Adjuster for 12 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Opal Ryerson; two brothers: Howard and Harry.

Survivors include his wife, Aljean of Britt; a daughter: Becky and her husband, Roger Haxton of Britt, and their children, Jarod, Jolene and Jeana; three sons: Bob and his wife, Jeanne of Arlington, Virginia and their children, Katie, Rob and his wife, Tammy; Randy of Ames, and his daughter, Kama Lea; Charles and his wife, Heidi of Birmingham, Alabama and their children, Charlie and Alyssa.
